GOVERNING BODY
The Governing body of a college is responsible for the overall management of the college and is accountable for its performance. The primary function of the Governing Body is to establish a strategic trajectory for the College, delineating objectives and overseeing their progress.
The Governing Body assists the College in attaining the delivery of a high-quality educational experience for students by playing a strategic role and avoiding operational management responsibilities. The Governing Body oversees the followings:
- Figuring out the College's educational goals and purpose, as well as keeping an eye on what it does, is up to the Board.
- Endorsing the quality strategy of the institution.
- Present a strategic perspective.
- Maintain accountability.
- Utilizing resources efficiently.
- Approving annual income and expenditure estimates.
As per the constitution implemented by Higher Education Dept. of Odisha, eleven members in total should be the governing body of a degree college. Firstly, the HE department, Odisha selects the President, who is a retired person below 65, must be an educationist. The other ten members including the Principal will remain as member. However, the principal of a degree college will act as the secretary of the governing body. The Governing body of Science College, Konkorada as follows:
