Since 2010–11, the Ministry of Education has worked to carry out an annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) to assess the state of higher education in the nation. The poll includes all of the institutions in the nation that offer higher education. Data is being gathered on a variety of factors, including teachers, student enrollment, programs, exam outcomes, funding for education, and infrastructure.
The information gathered by AISHE will also be used to calculate indicators of educational development such as Institution Density, Gross Enrolment Ratio, Pupil-Teacher Ratio, Gender Parity Index, and Per Student Expenditure. These are helpful in conducting research and making educated policy decisions for the growth of the education sector.
