The Department of English has been more successfully running since establishment of this college in 1981. It has been teaching English both language and literature to the students by taking utmost care from pillar to post and even thereafter, which is in Gandhi's version 'permanent care and relationship between teachers and students. The department has been playing an active role to build up students in such a manner that we don't feel the lack of English teachers in this locality as the scenario experienced two decades ago. The best outcome is the schools around our college in which our students are teaching. English as both compulsory and optional subject has been taught as well as an honors (core) subject since 2007. Weekly seminars in the Department have been conducted as much as possible except examination and valuation time. Critical theories approaches are being discussed more often in the seminars to acquaint the students be able to keep themselves afresh and abreast of all. Our students also take much delight in creative writing by compiling poems, short stories and words of wisdom in the wall magazine that adores the facade of our college at large. While instilling thought as thoughtfulness, we three teachers have extended our help and cooperation to our young student minds with much care and confinement that they feel the department better than home. In their devotion and dedication too, they have been learning how to be fit for all kinds of situations and to the best of their attempts, they more interestingly prefer to promote the Indian English literature as it is the need of the hour. With a tough promise what they wish to do in future ...is to work for own people and nation wholeheartedly.
