At the Department of History, Science College Konkorada, we embark on a fascinating journey through the corridors of time. As the Head of Department, I am delighted to introduce you to our vibrant and dynamic academic community dedicated to unraveling the rich tapestry of human history.

With a legacy spanning several decades, the Department of History has consistently been a torchbearer of historical studies in our region. We have nurtured countless curious minds, instilling in them a passion for history and a deep appreciation for the lessons it offers.

History of Dept. of History

The department of History launched its journey in 1981 as intermediate subject and it obtained approval for introducing History as Honours subject in 2007. With an intention to build up students and to impart them better education on this subject we train young minds. The objective of the curriculum ,designed by Berhampur University, is to focus on different dimensions and aspects of human beings. Though the course content is vast and wide ranging, yet the curriculum covers theoretical, conceptual and empirical aspect of the discipline. This provides the students necessary conceptual awareness to undertake further specialized study and research activity when they adopt at their end. Besides teaching, the Department organizes class wise seminar, debates and prepares students for Quiz competition and group discussion, so that they can keep pace with the time.

Our esteemed faculty members are scholars and historians with diverse specializations, ensuring a well-rounded and comprehensive educational experience. They are committed to imparting knowledge, fostering critical thinking, and nurturing the intellectual growth of our students.The faculty members are always ready to render all possible assistance and guidance to students within and outside the campus whenever required.
